In October, people from the community eventually received their spectacles. More than 300 children, youth, and adults had been tested by Brian Holden Vision Centre in late June.

Four months later, the pickup returned to KCC to bring what everyone had been waiting for for a long time. During the next days men and women came to stop by at KCC to get their brand new spectacles. About 150 pairs of glasses were given away to their happy new owners. Thanks to Brian Holden Vision Centre people now have a better view on what is happening around them.

Finally! The work has been done! We have finished the structure on our stand. It took a lot of time, many people had been involved and much work had been done until we got what we had been dreaming of for so long.

Thanks to many people and organizations who had been donating and subsidizing us with money to buy bricks, sand, cement, wood, windowpanes, and thanks to those who had been helping laying bricks, roofing, plastering, and painting we eventually have finalized the house we call the home of KCC.

The optometrists sent by Brian Holden Vision Centre came to test eyes of community members at KCC. More than 300 men and women came to get tested from June 19 to June 24.

Last week we celebrated Mandela Day. It went very well. People from National Treasury came and made a braai with children. They brought gifts of 20 white t-shirts and 20 jeans. To get some impressions have a look at the photos.
