"Re ya thabeng...

... - to the mountain!" In June some of the KCC boys and girls went on a camp in the countryside for a weekend. It was a time to relax, to enjoy nature and to laugh as much as possible.

Friday afternoon we left after school. After almost two hours of driving - including a short detour - we arrived at Kamp Reynard situated somewhere in the nowhere around Cullinan. The owner of that beautiful place had offered us the rooms for much less than ever could have been expected. As we had arrived late after dark we sat together to eat and shared our expectations for the forthcoming weekend.

The next day we started early to go for a hike and explore the nearby environment. We were guided to a huge rock and having climbed up a steep slope - yes, everyone made it - we were amazed by the beautiful view of the landscape. Being back at the camp we relaxed and refreshed in the pool. In the afternoon we were visited by some wild horses which came to graze at the lawn. Much to a surprise some of the kids where even successful in petting them.

After sunset some of the boys lit a campfire. We sat around the fire and joked until late at night. Others went inside the house and practiced their just discovered skills as a future piano prodigy.

Sunday morning we met for a short church service to thank for the great weekend we had had and enjoyed the day at the pool until the bus came to pick us up.

Once again we would like to thank everyone who made that trip possible. The boys and girls had a remarkable weekend on which they will live on for a long time.
