KCC welcomed parents and kids this week for another school year. As the centre held its official annual opening day new kids came to register and adults attended the parents' meeting at the premises.
From 18 January staff had been running a door to door campaign around places in Block NN, Block JJ, Block LL, and Block GG of Soshanguve and around Winterveld. They had approached children and families and had told them about KCC. So far, 170 kids have registered and attend programs at KCC. The small place is full of children and youth.
Many new kids are vulnerable as they come from youth headed families. Growing up without adults they are looking forward to find support at KCC. Another focus lies in improving liaison with parents. 55 parents attended the first parents' meeting. More parents are participating this year than last year. After the meeting kids and parents performed dances and drama. All in all, it was a very successful start in 2016.
Already, the Under 10 soccer team started practicing in January. For more impressions have a look at our gallery.
