Award for founder of KCC

Congratulations! Kgomotso Nyalungo, founder and programme manager of KCC, received the Gauteng Care-Givers Award for her enduring and selfless commitment for the children and youth of Soshanguve.

"I'm so happy. Thank you for having faith in me." Kgomotso was overwhelmed when she received the reward in the category of an individual. The Gauteng Care-Givers Awards are rewarded in recognition of women that make a difference by contributing positively towards moving Gauteng City Region foward. The award is presented by the Gauteng Department of Social Development in cooperation with Bontlebame.

Growing up in Block NN of Soshanguve Kgomotso herself experienced the troubles and dangers of that environment. However, she decided to make a difference and gathered children around her to keep them off the streets and lead them the right way. Dancing and acting out dramas was what they came for every afternoon. With the help of donors and friends the initiative has grown to become an organization giving hope and comfort to more than 120 children and adolescents.

Thank you Kgomotso for the work you do for all those kids!

At the event KCC children once more came to perform their dances in front of the audience at the award ceremony. They were also given two sets of dancing uniforms.
