Kgomotso Mphela is one of the 2021 winners of the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans. She was honoured in the category "rural development projects" together with 9 other fellow South Africans.
For 15 years the Mail & Guardian in partnership with the National Lotteries Commission has been awarding the "young incredible innovaters and trailblazers in South Africa". The award is one of the country's top awards for young people.
Kgomotso was chosen among thousands of nominations and has been awarded in the category "rural development projects" for the positive impact she has on the vulnerable in her community. She is the founder and programme manager of Kgomotso Children Centre and Gauteng Women's Forum. Through her work Kgomotso has been building self-confident young people and empower children, young adults and women to stand up for their rights. Congratulations, Kgomotso, on another award!
