Problems of young girls highlighted

Kgomotso Children Centre in Soshanguve has launched a project it believes will raise awareness about the problems uniquely faced by adolescent girls.

Called the Kgomotso Girls for Success, the project is the brainchild of centre founder Kgomotso Senauwa who said: „I started this organisation because of the sad and painful childhood accompanied by struggle, suffering and sexual abuse that I experienced.“

Choristers offer a melodic help

AS PART OF the South African Tertiary Institutions Choral Association’s social responsibility programme, students from thirteen tertiary institutions across the country participating in a choral music competition at Tshwane University of Technology took part in community upliftment projects at three community centres in Soshanguve.

The programme involved cooking, cleaning, washing, gardening, tutoring and playing with the children at the centres. Amongst the chosen centres was Kgomotso Children Centre.

Be you in all you do

KGS, namely Kgomotso Girls of Success, held the second workshop last Saturday, September 19, and it was a big success. 69 teenage girls from KCC and other youth centres attended and learned a lot.The theme of this workshop was "Be you in all you do". Lesego Gololo, a professional speaker, had been speaking at the event which afterwards led into a discussion about the meaning of the word unique.
