KCC career exhibition

For the second time Kgomotso Children Centre hosted the career exhibition to give adolescent students an idea on future plans, education and job possibilities.Last year the idea broke ground to have a day for pupils from grade 9 to 12 where the can get informed about possible paths to take once they finish school. This career day became a huge success and it was obvious that this had not to be a once-off event.

This year guest speaker were invited and came to talk to adolescents about their professions. They shared their experiences and motivated the listeners to make their own dreams come true. Among those speakers was Lebogang Mmekwa, a psychologist who talked about choosing an appropriate career, formulating a CV and manhandling interviews. Daniel Sithole, an electronic engineering student took the pupils briefly through his acclimation phase at the University of Pretoria. Others were Bonolo Seakamela, entrepreneur who helped to understand the entrepreneurial ecosystem, Maggie Tsotetsi, a qualified town planner from the university of Pretoria, CEO of her own company and co-founder of an NGO excelling in spatial injustice, Tshimangadzo Mampitha, a social worker who talked about her 11 years of experience within social development and correctional departments, Moses Bongo, a chemical engineer with vast experiences ranging from project managemehnt to service engineering and product development, and Lieutenant Colonel Modisane who spoke about law enforcement.

The students who listened carefully went home with many ideas in mind and now ready to choose their own career path.
