Khomotso Children’s Centre (KCC) hosted the youth day celebration in Soshanguve, Pretoria. Residents came in large numbers to celebrate the commemoration of the 1976’s fallen heroes. The event was organised and hosted by the founder of KCC, Khomotso and her co-workers.
KGOMOTSO Senauwa’s story was like a great many children in her township.
Her parents were out of work and sometimes there was not enough food to put on the table let alone the funds to go to university or further her dreams of education.
All around her the situation was the same – families out of work, children learning more about drugs and alcohol than school work and at risk of HIV Aids and teenage pregnancy.
After another closure due to the lockdown situation KCC has finally opened again in February. While some activities are still restricted due to level 3 lockdown everyone at KCC was eager to start again with their work.
