On December 5 Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela passed away. To express their deep sympathy the children of KCC prepare to go to pay tribute to Mandela at the Union Buildings on December 11 next week.In June this year KCC children already came to dance for him while he was in hospital at Pretoria. Mandela loved and valued children of South Africa so much. They have been one of his first priorities. Thank you very much, Madiba!
In October, people from the community eventually received their spectacles. More than 300 children, youth, and adults had been tested by Brian Holden Vision Centre in late June.
Four months later, the pickup returned to KCC to bring what everyone had been waiting for for a long time. During the next days men and women came to stop by at KCC to get their brand new spectacles. About 150 pairs of glasses were given away to their happy new owners. Thanks to Brian Holden Vision Centre people now have a better view on what is happening around them.
Children are invited to show their talents and compete with each other for KCC's best talent.
Today, there will be a parent's meeting at KCC. It will be a reward day.
